Contacl Lenses

Contact lenses are lenses worn on the eyes over the front part of the eye. The main purpose is to correct refractive errors like myopia, hypermetropia, Aphakia etc. The other uses include cosmetic look enhancement as in colour cosmetic contact lenses, treatment purpose as in hole in the cornea, healing ulcers, Keratoconus- conical protrusion of cornea etc. the contact lenses come in different materials for different purposes. There are certain dos and don’ts for proper, disease free maintenance of the contact lens wear. Hygiene is the most important of all. The lenses are available for wear on a daily, monthly and yearly change options. When not maintained properly, there are risks of developing corneal ulcers, scarring, allergic nodules etc.
